As two noteworthy events coincide on the same day, we observed Independence Day and thereafter, the assumption of our blessed mother Mary in whose honour a solemn mass was offered. The flag was raised by Sr. LILY GRACE TOPNO (DSA), the Mother General of St Anne’s, Ranchi. She, a few moments later, delivered a moving speech on this national occasion and persuaded everyone to be a good citizen of the country. Students of CLHRC took part in the march-past exuberantly and sang patriotic songs commemorating struggles and sacrifices of our freedom fighters. At dusk, a small cultural event was held in order to foster the creative minds of students. The theme of the event was ‘Refresh and Renew life.’ The chief guest of the event was Fr. Ajeet Xess S.J, Provincial of Ranchi Jesuits. 1st year nursing students put up quite a show and bagged first position in the competition.
